Croft Castle XC Date: 10th November 2019 @ 11:00am - 1:30pm

I am delighted to pass on details of what is the second race in the Herefordshire Off Road Winter Series - at Croft Castle on November 10th. This is a classic and as always, takes place on Remembrance Sunday - this year, of course, 100 years since the end of World War 1. I always feel it's a great way to show respect - if you are able bodied, and fit enough to do so - to get out there and run your heart out. There is always a two minute silence before the start which is moving, and highly appropriate: another reason this event is so special. I'm not going to lie - it's not easy. But then, what that is worth doing, is?

A couple of requests/reminders from your grumpy old XC Captain: 1) I will try to hand out as many numbers as possible, but if you have to pick yours up from me on the day *PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE* do so *at least* half an hour before the race. I will be taking part too, and I need time to warm up. 2) If you are not EA affiliated as a First Claim Ludlow Runner in advance of the race (and on the list I have circulated previously) *YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE PART*. If you have any doubts, or can't find the list, please contact me as soon as possible and I will clarify. I will not be able to do anything about this on the day. You have been warned. Lastly, in case you haven't taken part before, you MUST be wearing a Ludlow Runners singlet or TShirt to race. If you haven't got one I can sell you one at the very competitive price of £15.

I look forward to seeing you there. Let's hope the weather is traditional too (glorious November sunshine).

Go Ludlow
