Improvers Group

June 2014 434Some improvers have been running for some time on their own and want some coaching to get faster or advice on how to train. They may want to run with others and find out what events others like to do. Some have moved up from the walk to run group and some are experienced runners people returning to training after a break.

You will run at your own pace and be shown the best techniques to make you faster. Many of the improvers like to enter Mudruns and Race for Life events and once faster often start to run in our summer races. The half marathon and marathon distances are always popular and for some in the group this is their ultimate challenge, whether to finish in a certain time or to be able to run and finish comfortable.

Each Thursday will include a thorough warm up, some technique coaching and some efforts at different speeds. The runners in this group often improve quickly and may be running 3 or 4 times a week. It is a friendly and fun group to be in and many attend the monthly club socials.

The Improvers are coached by Colin Lancaster a UK Athletics Level 3 Running Coach and Tutor.
